My adventure began with a desire to serve the Church abroad in some way. Knowing that Scandinavia is a mission area of the Church, I got in touch with Sr. Anna Mirijam Kaschner, CPS, the General Secretary of the Scandinavian Bishops’ Conference, who then put me in contact with Sr. Ane-Elisabet of Katarinahjemmet.

I was hoping to be challenged during my stay in Oslo spiritually, mentally, culturally, and emotionally. Living with the sisters and being inspired by their example of holiness and charity gave me more than I could ever have imagined. I learned to see things in a new way while outside my comfort zone, and for that, I am forever grateful for the opportunity.

I also made so many dear friends and had an awful lot of fun!

Any young woman would be very wise to ask to live as a volunteer at Katarinahjemmet!
